While still well below the global average, the UK\u2019s use of robots has risen over 42% in the same period and continues to grow.<\/h4>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Published at the end of 2021, <\/span><a style=\"text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 2px solid #a7be38;\" href=\"https:\/\/ifr.org\/ifr-press-releases\/news\/robot-density-nearly-doubled-globally\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the IFR\u2019s World Robot Report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> states that there are now 126 robots per 10,000 employees worldwide. In 2015, this was 66 units \u2013 up 90.9%. Asia and Australia lead the list of innovative continents with 134 units, followed by Europe at 123 units.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, Europe\u2019s figures are boosted by Germany and Sweden, who are among the top five most automated countries in the world. The UK is not innovating as quickly, with 101 units per 10,000 employees. This figure was 71 units five years ago, so as well as being placed low at 24th in the list of innovators, UK growth isn\u2019t keeping pace with global average growth either.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>UK\u2019s use of robots<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We wrote last year about the <\/span><a style=\"text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 2px solid #a7be38;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.palpack.co.uk\/news\/uk-fails-to-make-list-of-innovators\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UK falling behind in automation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Reasons for this included:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fear of the unknown or making a change<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lack of investment<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lack of available space<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, since then, the government has introduced the <\/span><a style=\"text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 2px solid #a7be38;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.palpack.co.uk\/news\/super-deduction-incentive-on-automation-machinery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">super-deduction incentive on automation machinery<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which runs until March 2023, which reduces the risk of investing.
